Lab On Wheels Programme: Initiative Of Delhi Govt

The ‘Lab On Wheels’ programme of the Delhi Technological University has been inaugurated by the Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia. Under the programme, the university students will travel in a bus across Delhi to teach underprivileged and govt school students. The aim is to impart education in the stream of Science and Mathematics to students belonging to marginalised and poor economic backgrounds and to motivate them to pursue these subjects in higher education. The ‘Lab on Wheels’ will comprise of 02 televisions, 16 computers, 01 3D printer, 01 laptop, printer and cameras. It will be fully air-conditioned with 100% power back up and Wi-Fi enabled. Initially, the programme will target 12 schools. The vehicle will function in 03 shifts: 1) From 08 am to 11 am; 2) From 11 am to 02 pm; and 3) From 02 pm to 05 pm. Each shift will have 02 DTU students (volunteers) to teach 16 students for the computer lab or 25 students for a regular classroom. DTU PRO Anoop Lather informed that
